PROGRAM OUTCOMES:

Mission:
To empower our young women in and around the sea, to become the solutions they seek, and to embrace their unique femininity.

During our Wāhine Kai Camp, we empower our wāhine to create the solutions they seek by embracing who they are. We encourage young wāhine to feel comfortable in their own skin, and we emphasize the philosophy WE ARE ENOUGH. As a collective, we learn to recognize the power of the ocean and embody that power within ourselves.

Through hoe wa’a (canoe paddling), he’e nalu (surfing), mālama i ke kai (taking care of the oceans and shorelines), and much more, we create safe spaces for place-based and cultural education, deep discussions surrounding coming of age, and outdoor fun.

Final Outcomes:
* 100% of participants reported feeling more self-confident.
* 100% of participants reported feeling more prepared for adult life.
* 87% of participants engaged were Native Hawaiian.
