PROGRAM OUTCOMES:

Youth of the Waiʻanae coast were taught multiple ocean safety and life saving skills by trained and certified professionals.


The participants of the Mauka to Makai Makaha program were also taught how to make pāpale; they all had an opportunity to make their own pāpale. This cultural practice which was passed down from our ancestors was a great way to teach the keiki how our ancestors used the resouces around them to create beautiful pāpale.
