About the event
The uhauhumu pohaku workdays is a community gathering focused on the traditional Hawaiian practice of dry-stacking stones. This series of 5 monthly workdays will be led by an experienced uhauhumu pohaku practitioner.
Participants will learn:
- The cultural significance of pohaku work
- Engineering principles involved in dry-stacking
- Ancestral knowledge embedded in this traditional practice
This program provides hands-on cultural education and opportunities for our Native Hawaiian community to connect through laulima.
