About the event

Ola Ka ʻĪ will once again usher in Mahina ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian Language Month) with an exciting offering of student-led entertainment and storytelling, “make & take” stations, games, shopping opportunities, and informational booths. This year there is once again an added bonus of a hoʻokūkū haʻi ʻōlelo – a Hawaiian language speech competition for students in grades K-12.

With games, activities and mele, the's something for everyone at this year's kickoff Ola Ka ʻĪ events across the pae 'āina. The collaboration between Kūlaniākea, Kanaeokana and KS Kaiāulu brings together more than 100 students from Hawaiian language immersion schools, teachers, ʻohana and 30+ community organizations to normalize ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi in public spaces.

There’s something fun for everyone, join us as we celebrate ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi across the pae ʻāina!
