About the event
Guided by the ʻōlelo noʻeau, “Mōhala i ka wai ka maka o ka pua” (Unfolded by the water are the faces of the flowers), this event serves as a vital resource to help our community’s youth flourish. This comprehensive, one-day clinic provides 2nd-12th grade students with a high-intensity learning environment that bridges the gap between athletic talent and future opportunity.
The event features a dual-track system for Volleyball and Basketball, ensuring broad community engagement. Participants will not only sharpen their physical skills through drills but will also be immersed in:
- Cultural Foundations: Integration of Pāʻani Makahiki (traditional games) to build agility and a connection to Hawaiian history.
- Aina-Based Nutrition: A hands-on workshop teaching athletes how to fuel their bodies using native "superfoods" like kalo, ʻuala, and niu.
- College Readiness: A dedicated Recruiting Seminar for high schoolers to draft athletic resumes and a Digital Highlight Lab for middle schoolers to learn professional self-representation.
By providing these elite resources for free, we ensure that every "pua" in our kaiāulu has the "wai" they need to reach their full potential.
