Lā Hoʻihoʻi Ea on Molokai is focused on paying tribute to Kauikeaouli, celebrating food sovereignty, cultural learning, and the collective stewardship of ʻāina. Rooted in the principles of sustainability and self-determination, the event honors traditional practices, fosters intergenerational learning, and uplifts ʻike kupuna. Attendees can engage in hands-on workshops (cooking local sourced ingredients with Chef Sam Choy and Kenta Nemoto from Hawaii ʻUlu Co-op and meet + greet local farmers), ʻāina activities like kuʻi kalo + planting, and discussions on food systems, while also enjoying mele, hula, and ʻono food.
