About the event

The Koʻolaupoko Wellness Workshop is a one-day, community-centered gathering designed to educate, elevate, and empower participants through Hawaiian cultural wellness practices rooted in ʻike kūpuna. This immersive experience offers a safe and nurturing space for individuals and ʻohana to reconnect with themselves, one another, and the wisdom of Hawaiian traditions that support balance and well-being.

Participants engage in guided breath and body awareness, emotional wellness practices centered on the naʻau, and hands-on learning that introduces lāʻau as medicine, lomilomi principles, pule, and other Hawaiian healing practices. Learning is experiential and relational, emphasizing ma ka hana ka ʻike—knowledge gained through doing—rather than lecture-based instruction.

A shared ʻai pono lunch reinforces nourishment, rest, and relationship-building as essential components of wellness. Throughout the day, participants are encouraged to reflect, share, and integrate practices in ways that are practical and relevant to daily life. By centering ʻāina, ʻohana, and community, this workshop strengthens cultural connection, builds collective resilience, and supports long-term wellness in Koʻolaupoko.
