About the event
The ʻĀina Hoʻopulapula Mele and Hula Conference is a half-day, place-based cultural gathering held on March 14, 2026, from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM at Kalanihookaha Community Learning Center. This event is designed to serve approximately 300 participants, engaging keiki, ʻopio, and ʻohana in mele, hula, and ʻāina-based learning inspired by the legacy of Prince Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole and the significance of homestead lands.
Through hands-on cultural practice, storytelling, and guided reflection, participants will strengthen cultural identity, deepen their sense of belonging, and develop kuleana to ʻāina. These are key outcomes aligned with the E Ola Learner Framework. The conference creates an accessible, intergenerational learning environment where ʻike kūpuna is experienced as a living practice, empowering participants to carry forward Hawaiian values of stewardship, leadership, and community responsibility.
Lunch will be provided.
