About the event
The 8th Annual Garden Island Boogie Board Classic (GIBBC) and the 18th Annual Hubb Keiki Fest are exciting community events celebrating the sport of boogie boarding in Hawaiʻi.
The GIBBC is a three-day event set to take place from July 17-19, 2026, at Prince Kuhio Beach and Park in Koloa, Kauaʻi. This professional-amateur contest allows local youth and adults to showcase their talent in a friendly competition. The GIBBC features eight amateur divisions and one professional division, with registration fees of $25 for amateurs and $200 for professionals. All age groups and genders are welcome to participate, and women may compete in Men’s Divisions. A prize purse accompanies the professional divisions, providing added incentive for competitors. The awards ceremony will be hosted by the Royal Order of Kamehameha, Kaumuali'i Chapter 3 on Sunday, marking the conclusion of the contest.
The Hubb Keiki Fest is a one-day, free amateur event taking place in August at Waimanalo Beach Park, Oʻahu. This event focuses on youth and their families, promoting the enjoyment and continuation of the sport.
