Kumano Mahiʻai Kalo Summer Program
The program will consist of our youth learning about the significance of Hāloa and relationship kanaka & aina. Participants will learn about:
a. the importance of wai and kalo irrigation system.
g. oli and moʻolelo.
b. work ethic and kuleana
c. kalo varieties
d. KNF korean natural farming and how to apply the fertilizers that they will make from plants around the farm.
f. ʻikenomics (economics) and industry/business perspective of mahiʻai kalo incorporating mathematics.

We plant to do pre and post test for all of the participants to help track their growth and retention of information taught to them on a daily basis.
We will be using KS quadrics to track participants daily.
We are looking to hire 6-8 interns who will help to teach the pōkiʻi group of participants raging from ages 5-13 years old.
